What Air Pressure Is Required To Run An
Air Caster System
Air Casters are powered by compressed air
(pneumatically), and it is important to note that compressed air can be
delivered to systems at different pressures. Too much air pressure will
often cause air powered tools and equipment to work incorrectly, or not
as designed by the manufacturer.
90 psi (6.2 bar) is required
for virtually all of Hovair's air caster machine moving equipment.
10-12 SCFM is required
for each load module in a 16,000 pound system.
Below you can see a diagram of a typical Hovair air
caster system footprint. Each module in this 16000 pound system will
require around 10 to 12 scfm for this weight capacity. Therefore the
whole system will require around 40 to 48 scfm to lift and move 16000
pounds (7.257 kgs).
